Grand Strand Affair - Code of Conduct

Effective for all attendees, presenters, volunteers, and staff throughout the duration of Grand Strand Affair

Grand Strand Affair is committed to creating a consensual, respectful, and inclusive environment where all attendees feel safe to explore and learn. The following guidelines are in place for all attendees, presenters, staff, and volunteers. These policies apply throughout the full duration of Grand Strand Affair, including classes, dungeons, hallways, social spaces, and all associated events.

1. Consent  is Required—Always
   Only touch someone if you’ve asked and received explicit, verbal consent.      Silence, body language, or previous play history are not consent.   If it’s not a clear “yes,” then it’s a no.
2. Erotic  Activity Must Be Negotiated
   Before engaging in any erotic, kinky, or intimate activities—including      touching genitals, breasts, or buttocks; playing with power dynamics; or      initiating impact or sensation play—you must first negotiate and  receive permission. Consent should always be affirmative, informed,  and enthusiastic. Consent must be granted for each activity  individually. Agreement to one activity does not imply agreement  to another.
3. Unwanted  Contact
   If someone touches you without your permission, you are encouraged to say      “No” or “Stop.” Please report the incident to Grand Strand   Affair Security Staff or a Dungeon Monitor as soon as possible so we can  help support you.
4. Don’t  Join Unless Invited
   Do not enter or involve yourself in another scene unless explicitly      invited by all parties involved. What you see others consent to with one      person does not mean you have the same permission.
5. Safe words and Withdrawing Consent
   Consent can be withdrawn at any time. The universal Grand  Strand Affair  safe word is “Red.” Nonverbal      safe signs are also valid. If someone uses a safe word or otherwise      indicates they are uncomfortable, you must stop immediately.  “No” means no. “Maybe” means no. Trying to change someone’s mind  undermines consent.
6. Risk  & STI Disclosure
   Informed consent includes being upfront about any risks involved.      This includes disclosing your STI status or any other  important information before engaging in intimate or sexual activity.
7. Impairment  Nullifies Consent
   A person who is visibly impaired (due to drugs, alcohol, or  otherwise) cannot give consent. If you observe someone who  appears impaired, notify a Grand Strand Affair staff member or Dungeon  Monitor right away.
8. Informed  Consent is Honest Consent
   Withholding relevant information or lying to gain consent is unethical and      invalidates it. Share important information, including health and safety      risks, honestly.
9. Coercion is Not Consent
       Do not use pressure, manipulation, guilt-tripping, or coercion to  obtain consent. Consent must be freely given.
10. Protect Each Other’s Privacy
    Never “out” someone as kinky, non-monogamous, or otherwise involved in      alternative lifestyles—whether in person, online, or through  photos—without their express permission. This includes using people’s  legal names.
11. Phones  and Photography Are Strictly Forbidden
    Phones, photography, and video recording are strictly prohibited throughout the event except in the designated areas. This applies to both public and private event spaces. Anyone seen using a phone outside of designated  areas may be subject to removal from the event. If you need to stay  reachable for emergencies or urgent alerts, we strongly encourage  the use of a smartwatch set to silent mode. No  recordings of any kind are allowed at Grand  Strand Affair, even in designated areas. This is a zero-tolerance  policy to protect the privacy and safety of all attendees.
12. Reporting  Violations
    We take reports of consent violations seriously. To report a concern: 
    • At the event: Speak to any clearly marked Grand Strand   Affair Security Staff, Dungeon Monitor, or Safety Lead to be  directed to a trained IRT Committee member. Or, speak to an IRT Committee  member directly. IRT committee members can be easily identified at the event by a badge ribbon attached to their Grand Strand Affair Badges which designates them as an official  Grand Strand Affair IRT Committee member
    • Outside  the event: You can fill out the IRT Contact Us form, email grandstrandaffair@gmail.com      You will receive a confirmation within 72 hours.

We will treat your report with discretion and care. Reports will be investigated by our IRT Committee to ensure fairness and impartiality.

We expect everyone at Grand Strand Affair between consensual pain and lasting harm. Never aim to diminish someone’s ability to thrive.

1. Confidentiality is Crucial: Do not share personal or sensitive information learned at Grand Strand Affair, including names, identities, or experiences.
2. Integrity Matters: Uphold these principles consistently. You represent the Grand      Strand Affair community in everything you do

Disclaimer: Grand Strand Affair will make every reasonable effort to enforce this policy. However, we cannot guarantee full enforcement in all situations, and each case will be reviewed individually.

All attendees are ultimately responsible for their own safety and for respecting the boundaries of others.

This is a living document; our understanding of consent and community ethics evolves over time. We are committed to updating this policy to reflect current best practices. Any significant changes will be made in consultation with the Grand Strand Affair Board of Directors.

We recognize that no policy can account for every scenario. We welcome ongoing feedback and community discussion to help us improve.
