What Your Gift Does
From vaccinations to vests, every stage of a service dog’s training journey requires resources. Your gift fuels the daily care, training, transportation, and placement of our dogs—and ensures they’re matched with the people who need them most. Because of donors like you, our dogs are able to change lives with confidence and compassion.
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
Each service dog we place represents an investment of over $50,000 in breeding, training, and lifelong support. This includes a two-year training process, personalized placement, and ongoing follow-up to ensure long-term success. While our current model asks each recipient to contribute a portion of that total, the majority is covered by the generosity of supporters like you.
Silent Auction Proceeds
With your help, we aim to reduce that recipient contribution even further—making sure that cost is never a barrier to independence. Every donation moves us closer to a future where more people can receive the life-changing support of a service dog, regardless of income.
The Leather Heart Foundation
We believe that everyone deserves access to a supportive community when unexpected challenges arise. Through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, Hearts of Leather has helped individuals facing a wide range of emergencies, including accidents, job loss, medical crises, emergency home repairs, and other unforeseen life events.
Our Mission: To provide financial assistance, educational programs, and community support to consenting adults within the alternative lifestyle and relationship communities, helping individuals overcome hardships and build stronger, more resilient lives.
